Another Premier League match-up between Fletcher Moss Blues and the Celtic u10 Blues at Wright Robbie.

Credit to any boy or girl playing today- bitterly cold, drizzle and a driving wind but it ensured nobody was stationary for very long and it was one way traffic for Celtic from the off. Zak was back to his tigerish best today and won his usual 80% of tackles and challenges and set the tone for the team and the positivity today. The industrious Will was absent today but the lads grafted away and managed to find the wingers today more than recent weeks which has always been the key to the Blues' success. It didn't take too long for the Fletcher Moss keeper to be called into action saving from a Lewis strike and then a George free kick. Continued pressure though  saw Lewis hammer home a quick fire double  with each foot and the Blues' tails were up.  Elliot crept up from the back and had a couple of sighters. Corey was a constant threat down the right wing linking up well with Zak, Mason came on for a hard working George who didn't get the goal today but his closing and pressing  effort was immense. A succession of at least 6 corners didn't bear any fruit but the Blues went in up at half time.

The second half saw Fletcher Moss switch keepers and the new lad looked half decent seeming to pick every corner off that the Blues had. Lewis went off for a break and it was no surprise that Fletcher Moss suddenly had more time on the ball and grabbed a goal back- game on!.  Harlee was linking up well on the left today with the midfield and defence, always showing for the ball and having the confidence to take their defenders on. On the same subject Elliot and  Jody were back to their solid and positional best, Jody even found himself supporting the attack on a couple of occasions by bringing the ball calmly out of defence. Only twice was Jack called upon to mop up but the poor lad was verging on hypothermia  and needed a one two with Harlee up to the half way line at one point to get warm. Corey had been quiet by his usual standards but a quality cross from the right found an unmarked Mason who hammered home to break his duck for the Blues and hopefully the start of things to come. The upright denied Lewis a worthy hat-trick but in truth it remained fairly comfortable despite a Fletcher Moss substitute making a good impression near the end.

In summary a solid professional performance in atrocious conditions- roll on spring!
